Born in August 1964, Martire entered the American workforce during a transformative period marked by the burgeoning influence of unions and evolving labor dynamics.
In 2002, at the age of 37, Martire achieved a significant milestone in his journey by assuming the dual roles of Vice President and Mid-Atlantic Regional Manager of the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA). His election to these positions signified the culmination of years of tireless advocacy and unwavering commitment to the cause he holds dear.
Martire’s trajectory within LIUNA commenced in April 1990 when he undertook the role of International Representative for the Laborers Union of North America Jurisdictional Disputes Department. Immersed in the daily struggles faced by workers, he gained invaluable firsthand experience of the challenges confronting laborers. His steadfast advocacy and leadership propelled him through various positions within the organization, including Assistant Director and subsequently Director of the Laborers’ Construction Department.
